Privacy Policy

Effective 21 October 2026

brat is a desktop app that helps sole proprietors and companies in Armenia work with the State Revenue Committee (SRC) tax portal — signing in, reviewing tax data, and preparing declarations and invoices — from their computer.

The brat app runs on your computer. Your tax credentials and data are stored there, are never sent to the developer and pass through no server in between: the app talks directly to the government services listed below. This website stores only an email address, and only if one is typed into the early-access form.

What brat stores, and where

brat has no user account on the developer's side and no cloud sync. There is nothing to sign up for.

Who brat connects to

brat connects directly from your device to:

These connections carry only what those official services need. brat sends nothing to its developer.

What the app collects

Nothing. brat contains no analytics, no advertising, no third-party trackers, and no telemetry. The developer receives no personal data from the app.

This website

brat.am is the website: it serves a step-by-step guide to starting an IE or LLC, an overview of the tax regimes, the tax-office directory and this policy, and the app does not run on it. It sets no cookies, runs no analytics, and embeds no third-party trackers.

The map on the tax-offices page is loaded from MapTiler: to draw it, your browser requests map tiles from MapTiler, which sees your IP address and the page address. No other page has the map.

It has one form. If an email address is submitted to the early-access form, these are stored, in a hosted PostgreSQL database:

Both the form and the database run in Frankfurt, Germany. The database is operated by Neon on Amazon Web Services, the site itself by Vercel. Both act purely as hosting providers: they hold and move the data so the site can run, and put it to no use of their own.

A new signup sends two emails: a short confirmation to the address itself, and an internal note to the operator, so a signup doesn't sit unseen in the database. Both go out through Resend, an email-delivery service based in the United States and certified under the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework. Resend receives only the address and the chosen platform, for as long as sending the email takes.

That address is used for those two emails and for nothing else. It is not added to a mailing list and not used for advertising. It is kept until early access ends or until removal is requested, whichever comes first.

To have an address removed from that list at any time, write to privacy@brat.am. No reason is needed.

Data sharing

Your data is not sold or handed over for anyone else's purposes. Only the providers named above — Neon, Vercel, Resend, and MapTiler — handle it, and only as far as running the site and sending those two emails requires.

Security

Credentials are held in the system password store. On macOS the app runs in the App Sandbox and is signed for distribution through the Mac App Store. Nothing is submitted to the tax authority on your behalf without your electronic signature.

Children

brat is a professional tax tool and is not directed at children.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted on this page with a new effective date.
